            Dr. Salmon has held numerous leadership positions, most recently as the Director of the Division of Nursing, US Department of Health and Human Services (US Chief Nursing Officer).  Dr. Salmon’s research and publications have focused primarily on workforce capacity building and leadership development for health officers in the government context.  Dr. Salmon is a member and Fellow of the Institute of Medicine , where she served as a Distinguished Nurse Scholar in Residence, working with the Board on Global Health. She is currently a Director for Grifols, S.A. and the Institute for Education of Students Abroad. Her work in global health has benefitted from experiences as a Fulbright Scholar in Germany, a WK Kellogg Fellowship, and a residency at the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center.
